Mar 18, 2026 by AFP

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Today, Americans for Prosperity-Utah (AFP-UT) announced its endorsement of seven candidates for the state Senate and House of Representatives ahead of the primary election on June 23 and the rollout of grassroots activities across their districts.

Kevin Greene, AFP-UT state director, gave the following statement:

“With so many ongoing changes in Utah’s political landscape, it’s critical that we have steady, principled leaders serving our communities in the capitol. But no matter what, AFP-UT and our thousands of activists and volunteers will work tirelessly to elect legislators who are dedicated to commonsense solutions that make it easier to raise a family, start a business, and live the American Dream in our great state.”

Endorsed candidates

Sen. Brady Brammer (SD-21) Sen. Brammer is a staunch ally of AFP who is a major proponent for judicial reform. He consistently fights to give Utah families more freedom and flexibility in their everyday lives, from his votes to expand Utah’s school choice program to reducing burdensome restrictions on small businesses.

Rep. Tiara Auxier (HD-04) Rep. Auxier is a standout freshman legislator who has used her experience as a tax accountant to work alongside AFP in advancing pro-growth tax policies. She is also a former school district council member and serves on the House Education Committee to support parental rights and school choice.

Rep. Jake Sawyer (HD-09) Sawyer, with his background in mortgage lending and real estate, has seen firsthand how skyrocketing home prices have affected hardworking Utahns, and got to work in his first year on legislation to address the housing crisis. His focus on rising property taxes and education freedom will continue helping Utah families for years to come.

Speaker Mike Schultz (HD-12) As Speaker of the House, Mike Schultz is a policy champion on taxation and education, leading efforts to lower the income tax, business tax, and implement an education savings account (ESA) program in Utah. AFP looks forward to continued partnership with Schultz to further expand education freedom and unlock Utah’s energy production potential.

Rep. Ken Ivory (HD-39) Ken Ivory is a champion in the fight against burdensome federal regulations and restoring the state’s responsibility to lead on energy policy. He is also a spending hawk who has advocated for Utah to insulate itself from consequences of the national debt and Washington’s reckless fiscal policy.

Rep. Jordan Teuscher (HD-44) Rep. Teuscher has been a policy leader on important labor reforms and has worked alongside AFP-UT to create a fairer and more transparent tax system for funding Utah schools.

Rep. Cory Maloy (HD-52) Maloy is a leader in regulatory reform, who has championed several efforts to expand participation in Utah’s regulatory sandbox program. He is also a strong supporter of lowering taxes across the board and giving families the freedom to choose the best educational opportunities for their children.
