LEHI, UT – Americans for Prosperity-Utah (AFP-UT) presented State Representative Ryan Wilcox (R-Ogden) with its “Legislator of the Year” award at its third annual Prosperity Elevated Gala on Saturday for his leadership in deregulatory efforts during the 2025 legislative session.

Wilcox sponsored H.B. 474, implementing a legislative check on expensive regulations from the state bureaucracy and restoring the balance of power in the state government.

The event also featured remarks from three members of Utah’s congressional delegation – U.S. Representatives Blake Moore, Mike Kennedy, and Burgess Owens – on their work in Washington, D.C. this year, including passing the Working Families Tax Cut that will save Utah families thousands in federal taxes.

“I think that’s the best part of my holiday season: to express my gratitude to many in this room,” Rep. Moore told 200-plus activists and volunteers in attendance. “Americans for Prosperity has given me a north star.”

“AFP-UT is grateful to all the activists, volunteers, and elected leaders who made 2025 such an outstanding year for our state and joined us to celebrate our policy wins and prosperity this weekend,” said AFP-UT State Director Kevin Greene. “We’re especially grateful to Rep. Wilcox for his outstanding leadership in the state House this year to rein in the administrative state and keep the bureaucracy accountable to the people of Utah.”
