COLUMBIA, SC— Today, Minnesota Governor and failed Vice-Presidential candidate Tim Walz will be in Columbia touting the same progressive agenda South Carolinians soundly rejected last November.
Coincidentally, Walz’s travel to South Carolina and California this weekend coincides with each state’s importance in the 2028 Presidential nomination process. South Carolina was the first nominating contest in 2024, and California has the largest number of delegates.
Americans for Prosperity–South Carolina State Director Matt Humm released the following statement on Walz’s visit:
“By traveling around the country to deliver political speeches while Minnesota is in the middle of finalizing a state budget, Tim Walz has made his priorities crystal clear. He’d rather live out a desperate pipe dream of competing again in presidential politics while neglecting his duties as chief executive. Walz stood by as Minnesota’s education system deteriorated, crime skyrocketed, and the state’s finances devolved into a crisis.
“South Carolinians voted overwhelmingly against Tim Walz and his agenda last November. He should acknowledge reality by cancelling these trips and focusing on doing the job taxpayers are paying him to do.”
