ALBANY, NY — Today, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) released the following statement following Governor Kathy Hochul’s State of the State address.
AFP North East Region Director Ross Connolly said:
“From sky-high taxes and energy costs to the ongoing housing crisis and out-of-control spending from Albany, Governor Hochul missed the mark by not acknowledging these issues today in her State of the State address. New Yorkers are facing an affordability crisis, making it harder for residents to live, work, and build a future in New York, and we are seeing an increasing number of residents leaving for low-tax states.
“Governor Hochul failed to present a serious plan that outlines clear actions to address the challenges residents face every day. New Yorkers want solutions that will set up the state for success, not empty promises. AFP urges the Governor to commit to real reforms to make New York more competitive and affordable.”
