Piketon, OH — Americans for Prosperity–Ohio hosted a regional policy forum this week in Cincinnati, convening nearly 100 grassroots leaders, activists, and local officials to discuss key policy priorities ahead of the 2026 election cycle. The event focused on regulatory reform, property tax reform, and long-term pension sustainability.

The forum brought together a broad coalition of engaged Ohioans, including activists from Ross, Pike, Scioto, Jackson, and Lawrence counties, members of the Ross County, Pike County, and Scioto County Republican Parties, representatives from Shawnee State Turning Point, and local elected officials ranging from central committee members to county commissioners, sheriffs, and judges.

The discussion centered on the growing impact of government overreach and rising costs on families, workers, and small businesses across Southern Ohio, and the need for commonsense reforms that restore accountability and protect economic opportunity.

“Ohio families are feeling the pressure of higher taxes, outdated regulations, and unsustainable government systems,” said AFP-OH Grassroots Engagement Director Michael Segrest.

“This conversation made clear that there is strong momentum across Southern Ohio to pursue reforms that lower costs, strengthen local communities, and ensure government works for the people it serves.”

Americans for Prosperity–Ohio will continue hosting regional conversations across the state to elevate local voices and drive policy reforms that empower Ohioans to thrive.
