Concord, NH — Today, Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) slammed the House for approving HB 1602, a bill that will require battery producers to cover the costs for a burdensome recycling program.
Sarah Scott, AFP-NH Deputy State Director, released the following statement:
“HB 1602 will force battery manufacturers to fund the full costs of a recycling scheme—costs that will ultimately shift onto Granite Staters through higher prices and new fees, undermining New Hampshire’s competitive advantage as a low-tax, low-regulation state.
“We are disappointed that the House approved this blatant government overreach, which will drive up costs for both businesses and consumers.”
