CONCORD, N.H. – Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today celebrated the passage of Senate Bill 101, authorizing parents to enroll their children in any public school in the state. This legislation expands school choice, allowing families to decide what works best for their children’s needs.
Sarah Scott, AFP-NH deputy state director, gave the following statement:
“Far too often, we hear public schools are open to all, but that is not true. New Hampshire parents should have the authority to decide which school best suits their child’s needs, regardless of school district boundaries, because one size does not fit all. A functional school choice program would create more opportunities for kids’ education and revoke ZIP code discrimination, and that is exactly what Senate Bill 101 does. By expanding options beyond the town where a family lives, students’ needs can be met, and outcomes are improved across the state.
“We applaud the Senate for passing this important legislation that will empower families, not bureaucracies.”
