AFP-New Mexico Ad Campaign and Grassroots Push to Extend Trump Tax Cuts
SANTA FE, NM – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is launching a seven-figure ad and grassroots campaign highlighting what will be a Tax Day nightmare next year for working families across New Mexico if Congress fails to renew the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). This critical legislation has provided essential tax relief to families and small businesses nationwide and is overwhelmingly supported by hardworking Americans.

AFP-New Mexico State Director Sarah Hetemi released the following statement:
“The 2017 Trump tax cuts were the most pro-growth tax reform efforts in American history, and AFP was proud to work alongside President Trump and leaders in Congress to give hardworking Americans much-needed relief.
“At the end of the year, key provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will expire. As a result, the average New Mexican family will face a $1,803 federal tax hike. New Mexico is committed to reminding taxpayers that lawmakers like Gabe Vasquez are standing in the way of extending the Trump tax cuts for New Mexico families, workers, and small businesses so they keep more of their hard-earned money.”
In addition to digital and radio ads, AFP-New Mexico will host a statewide Protect Prosperity & Defend Taxpayers Tour to underscore the urgency to act. The tour will kick off in Albuquerque on April 15.
This campaign is a continuation of AFP’s $20 million commitment made in January – the largest investment of any outside limited-government conservative organization in support of a key pillar of President Trump’s agenda. In 2023 and 2024, AFP and AFP Action reached out to nearly 30 million voters.
