LAS VEGAS, NV—Ahead of Nevada’s 83rd Legislative session starting in February, Gov. Joe Lombardo delivered his state of the state address, highlighting an agenda focused on economic opportunity and investment in Nevada’s education system and students.
Lombardo gave five priority legislation areas in which he intends to focus: housing affordability and health care access, educational outcomes, public safety, and economic policy.
Americans for Prosperity (AFP)-Nevada State Director Ronnie Najarro released the following statement:
“AFP-Nevada appreciates Governor Lombardo’s leadership on economic policy and housing reform and reducing harmful regulations that have made purchasing a home out of reach for many Nevadans. We look forward to engaging on legislation that will foster economic opportunity and get government out of the way for Nevadans.
“AFP-Nevada greatly appreciates the Governor’s leadership in expanding open enrollment and the opportunity scholarship program. Together, we will advocate for policies that expand educational freedom and ensure all students have access to high-quality education.
“Looking ahead to 2025, we stand ready to work alongside Gov. Lombardo and the legislature on bipartisan solutions to help empower Nevadans and put the Silver State back on the pathway to prosperity.”
