AFP-Nebraska Urges Lawmakers to Pass REINS Act as End of Session Deadline Approaches

Lincoln, NE – Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska (AFP-NE) urged state lawmakers to pass the state’s version of the REINS Act (LB1049) ahead of the Legislature’s adjournment on April 17.

The REINS Act would ensure that Nebraskans have a say in the regulatory policies that impact their businesses and their daily lives. The bill would require any new proposed regulations to be approved by Nebraskans’ elected representatives, bringing firm, meaningful oversight and accountability to the bureaucracy.

“The REINS Act is a commonsense, pro-prosperity bill and a slam dunk win for all Nebraskans,” AFP Regional Director Jesse Mallory said. “Nebraska has thousands of restrictions on the books that create unnecessary burdens for businesses and families, and we constantly hear how those burdens impact people through our grassroots work. Nebraskans deserve regulatory relief before session ends on April 17.  It’s time to move REINS out of committee so the Legislature can send it to Governor Pillen’s desk.”
