LINCOLN, NE – Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska (AFP-NE) applauded senators today for rejecting the LB 170 which would have increased taxes on hardworking Nebraskans by over $100 million.
John Gage, AFP-NE state director, released the following statement:
“Once again, senators attempted to disguise tax increases as ‘property tax relief.’ Voters have no interest in tax shifts and are demanding real relief.
“Senators need to stop the tax and spend mindset that has taken over the Legislature the past few years. Lincoln’s budgeting is starting to look like Washington, D.C.’s, where negotiations only happen at the 11th-hour and spending deficits only grow larger.”
