Jackson, MS – Americans for Prosperity–Mississippi (AFP-MS) celebrates the Mississippi House of Representatives for passing the Education Freedom Act to expand parental options and education savings accounts across the state.
AFP-MS now strongly urges the Mississippi Senate to take up and pass HB 2 without delay.
In August, AFP-MS hosted “School Choice: Faith Based Community Community 1-Day Conference” to educate leaders across Mississippi on the urgent need for education freedom and the benefits it provides. Since then, AFP-MS has not stopped working to make this aspirational policy a reality.
AFP-MS State Director Starla Brown released the following statement:
“AFP-MS was thrilled to see the Mississippi House of Representatives taking decisive action to advance education freedom. By passing HB 2, the House is making real progress toward establishing Mississippi as a national leader on parental choice and opportunity in education.
“We now urge the Senate to act swiftly to pass HB 2, send it to the governor’s desk, and deliver meaningful education freedom that empowers families and ensures every student can access the education that best meets their needs.”
