Jackson, Mississippi — Today, Americans for Prosperity-Mississippi (AFP-MS) applauds the House Education Committee for passing the Educational Freedom Program Act of 2026 out of Committee. The legislation will expand school choice for families in Mississippi.
AFP-MS State Director Starla Brown said:
“The passage of the Educational Freedom Program Act of 2026 out of the Education Committee is a step in the right direction as Mississippi works to expand school choice. When it comes to education, a one-size-fits-all approach does not work for all families. Parents should have the opportunity to choose what school works best for their child, regardless of district lines.
“We applaud Chairman Rob Roberson and Representative Jansen Owen for championing this legislation in the House Education Committee and for being advocates for Mississippi students and families. We urge the House to pass this important legislation that will strengthen the education system in Mississippi and expand opportunities for families.”
