AFP-MS Applauds Introduction of Mississippi Educational Freedom Program Act of 2026

Jackson, MS – Americans for Prosperity–Mississippi (AFP-MS) today thanked House Speaker Jason White and Representative Jansen Owen for introducing H.B. 2, the “Mississippi Educational Freedom Program Act of 2026,” and voiced strong support for expanding education savings accounts (ESAs) to give families more options and more control over their children’s education.

AFP-MS State Director Starla Brown released the following statement:

“Mississippi families deserve the freedom to choose the learning environment that works best for their child. AFP-MS has consistently encouraged lawmakers to deliver education freedom for Mississippi students through a strong, scalable ESA program.

“H.B. 2 is a necessary step forward in the fight to help Mississippi families and students access an education that meets their needs.

“We thank Speaker Jason White and Rep. Jansen Owen for championing the Mississippi Educational Freedom Program Act of 2026 and working to modernize Mississippi’s education system to better serve our students.”
