AFP – Minnesota Launches Tax Calculator Showing DFL’s Wasteful Spending
ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Americans for Prosperity – Minnesota (AFP-MN) announced the launch of the “One Expensive Minnesota” tax calculator, a new website that will calculate the amount of money “Minnesota Democrats took from you” under the state government’s record-busting budget passed last year. The site also asks participants to sign a petition asking the governor and legislature to “rethink their harmful, damaging tax policy.”
The site shows Minnesota residents exactly how much the state budget – including new sales to gas taxes – will cost them.
AFP-MN will also hold a One Expensive Minnesota-themed town hall on February 10 with state Senator Eric Lucero (R-St. Michael) and Representatives Walter Hudson (R-St. Michael) and Paul Novotny (R-Elk River) where taxpayers can hear directly from their lawmakers on what they expect to happen and the solutions they will bring to the table this year.
AFP-MN State Director Jake Coleman issued the following statement:
“Minnesota’s wasteful budgeting is hurting hardworking families, who deserve to know about every dollar that their elected representatives are taking out of their pockets. Our new tool will help put this waste into concrete terms, and hopefully encourage people to hold lawmakers accountable.”
