AFP-KY Responds to Gov. Beshear’s State of the Commonwealth

FRANKFORT, KY- Americans for Prosperity Kentucky (AFP-KY) responded forcefully to tonight’s State of the Commonwealth address by Gov. Andy Beshear, calling out the Governor’s many attempts to co-opt the commonsense wins and policies of the Kentucky General Assembly as his own.

AFP-KY State Director Heather LeMire released the following statement:

“The Governor’s shameless attempt to claim Kentucky’s recent successes as his own, after fighting the General Assembly tooth and nail, is laughable. The Governor’s projection of togetherness and bipartisanship simply has not been the reality on the ground. We have been working hard with members of the General Assembly to expand educational opportunity and healthcare options, as well as affordable housing for every Kentuckian to actually achieve the American Dream.

While the Governor has been out of state, using taxpayer dollars to push his future ambitions, we urge the Governor to actually focus on commonsense solutions that will continue to move the Commonwealth forward.”
