FRANKFORT, KY – Americans for Prosperity-Kentucky (AFP-KY), today, announced its support of four candidates running for election and reelection to the Kentucky Legislature.

AFP-KY supports the following candidates for their leadership and commitment to increasing opportunity for all Kentuckians: State Sen. Chris McDaniel (SD-23), State Rep. Susan Tyler Witten (HD-31), State Rep. Ken Fleming (HD-48), and Vanessa Grossl (HD-88).

AFP, as part of the largest grassroots network in the country, plans to leverage the full weight of its voter contact capabilities, in addition to direct-mail and digital advertisements, to support these candidates.

AFP-KY State Director Heather LeMire issued the following statement:

“AFP-KY is proud to support this slate of candidates in their bids for the State Legislature. These candidates will work to pursue policies that will increase economic opportunity and lower taxes for Kentucky families and businesses. When elected, they will fight to improve educational outcomes for our students, lower inflation in the Bluegrass state, and impose sound fiscal policies that will help improve the lives of Kentuckians.

“As election day nears, AFP-KY and our grassroots army of activists are laser-focused on helping ensure this slate is elected come November. Our staff and volunteers are excited to get out and connect with voters to discuss the kitchen-table issues facing our communities and how these great candidates can address them in the legislature.”

AFP-KY Endorsed Candidates:

State Sen. Chris McDaniel
As Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, McDaniel plays a crucial role in safeguarding against excessive spending and, in 2023, was instrumental in securing Kentucky’s largest revenue surplus in history. He is also a champion of public safety and justice issues.

State Rep. Susan Tyler Witten
As a freshman legislator, Susan Tyler Witten has quickly established herself as a respected leader in education reform, sponsoring legislation to expand state support for students outside the public school system. Witten also serves on the State Housing and Certificate of Need (CON) task forces, where she advocates for deregulation to lower housing costs and supports reducing CON requirements. Additionally, she is a champion of fiscal conservatism, voting to lower the Kentucky income tax.

State Rep. Ken Fleming
Fleming is a leading voice on education reform, working with AFP-KY to advance a constitutional amendment for expanded educational opportunities and playing a key role in moving the bill through the house. He is a policy leader in tax reform, using his extensive tax policy knowledge to sponsor a bill reducing income tax and building support among his colleagues.

Vanessa Grossl
Grossl, a community leader and former public-school teacher, will leverage her expertise to champion educational choice and education reform. She also supports important AFP-KY priorities including repealing certificate of need, expanding domestic energy production, and enacting a state-level REINS Act.
