WASHINGTON, DC – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) today announced a Key Vote Alert urging members of the U.S. House of Representatives to support H.R. 3898, the Promoting Efficient Review for Modern Infrastructure Today (PERMIT) Act, introduced by Rep. Mike Collins (GA-10) and co-sponsored by Chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Rep. Sam Graves (MO-6). This legislation represents a critical step toward unlocking America’s abundant energy resources, ensuring reliable infrastructure, and reducing unnecessary regulatory delays that drive up costs for families and businesses.
The PERMIT Act restores the original intent of the permitting process by grounding it in sound science and predictable standards—limiting the politicization and bureaucratic overreach that have stalled energy projects for years. By streamlining reviews, this bill will allow the nation to build the key projects needed to move the country towards energy abundance, which is essential for making life more affordable for all Americans.
Why Energy Abundance Matters for Affordability
Energy prices impact virtually everything people buy and need on a day-to-day basis—from groceries and clothing to utilities and transportation. When energy is scarce and expensive, the cost of producing, transporting, and delivering goods skyrocket. By unlocking domestic energy resources and modernizing permitting, the PERMIT Act can help lower costs across the economy, making essentials like food, electricity, and commuting more affordable for hardworking families.

AFP hosted events in nearly a dozen states including visiting a power plant in Kentucky, an oil rig in Louisiana, a coal mine in Pennsylvania, an iron mine in Minnesota, an oil and gas processing site in Wyoming, hosted a roundtable about coal in Ohio, as well more stops in Wisconsin, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Texas, and Utah.
