DES MOINES, IA — As President Donald Trump prepares to take the stage this afternoon in Clive, Americans for Prosperity-Iowa (AFP-IA) welcomes the president back to the Hawkeye State.
Fresh off passing the largest tax cut in American history with the passage of the Working Families Tax Cuts, AFP-IA State Director Tyler Raygor issued the following statement on President Trump’s remarks:
“AFP welcomes President Trump back to Iowa in support of affordability, fewer taxes, and less government overreach.
“Iowans are looking for commonsense solutions that will reduce the cost of living for hardworking families, produce more affordable energy, and reduce government overregulation that stifles Iowa’s energy producers. President Trump’s message today supports one of affordability for hardworking Iowans.
“A strong American and Iowan energy sector requires abundance. The Trump administration identified the broken federal permitting system, and Congress must pass the SPEED and PERMIT Acts—bills that will lower energy costs, create jobs, strengthen American independence and support Iowa’s energy sector.”
