AFP-GA Praises Georgia Legislature for Tackling Regulatory Reform

Feb 3, 2026 by AFP

ATLANTA, GA – This week, Representative Scott Hilton introduced HB 1078, which, if enacted, would radically improve Georgia’s regulatory climate. Georgia currently ranks as the 26th most-regulated state among all 50 states.

AFP-GA State Director Tony West released the following statement:

“We are thankful for Representative Hilton for his leadership on this issue. HB 1078 will enhance legislative oversight on regulations, remove outdated rules from the books, and track the economic impact of regulatory processes and procedures. We are committed to ensuring that Georgia remains a top state for business, and HB 1078 would do just that by simplifying and reducing the cost of regulatory compliance.”
