AFP-GA Applauds State Senate for Passing SB 447

ATLANTA, GA – Yesterday, the Georgia State Senate passed SB 447, which would strengthen Georgia’s permitting process by requiring local governments to provide greater transparency when denying or rejecting certain permits. Americans for Prosperity-Georgia (AFP-GA) applauds the Senate for taking this action to improve Georgia’s regulatory environment.

AFP-GA State Director Tony West released the following statement:

“Currently, Georgians face unclear, inconsistent, or delayed explanations when permits are denied or deemed incomplete. This lack of transparency has oftentimes led to delays that have increased housing and development costs. SB 447 will reduce arbitrary decision-making and allow builders, developers, and home owners to address issues more quickly and efficiently. We applaud the Georgia Senate for overwhelmingly supporting this bill that will positively impact Georgia’s regulatory climate.”
