AFP Continues Commitment to Trump Tax Cuts with New Ads and Grassroots Activities in States Across the Country

In 2017, AFP Launched Largest Conservative Campaign to Support TCJA, Doing So Again in 2025

ARLINGTON, VA— Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is continuing the largest commitment by any group to support President Trump’s pro-growth tax cuts that started in 2017 when AFP’s advertising campaign and grass roots army helped pass the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

In January this year, AFP launched a $20 million Protect Prosperity campaign that will be on the air with new ads airing nationally this week around Tax Day calling on Congress to renew the Trump tax cuts. On average, American families will pay an additional $1,500 a year in taxes if Congress fails to act.

“After four years of Bidenomics reckless spending that drove inflation to 40-year highs, raising prices more than 20% and forcing middle-class families to spend $1,000 more a month just to tread water, the last thing Americans need is a bigger tax bill,” said AFP managing director Kent Strang. “AFP is proud to once again stand with President Trump and Congressional leadership and support President Trump’s tax cuts with a potent advertising campaign and our millions strong grassroots army communicating to their neighbors directly and to the halls of Congress. Lawmakers should move quickly to deliver the certainty and peace of mind American families and businesses need to plan for the future.”

The series of ads feature testimonials of real people discussing what the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act meant for their personal situations and their concern if Congress fails to extend it. While the ads focus on five individuals, our AFP grassroots activists continue to hear similar stories from thousands of Americans at their doorsteps every day. Additionally, all this week AFP is holding more than 60 Tax Day events across 30 states to educate people about the threat and rally support for renewal.

After passage of the TCJA in 2017, AFP also launched a multi-million-dollar campaign to educate Americans on how the pro-growth policies would revitalize the economy and open the floodgates to new opportunity, innovation, and prosperity – which the TCJA did.

The 2025 Protect Prosperity campaign has mobilized AFP’s grassroots army across all 50 states to reach millions of voters on the phone and at their doorsteps. In 2023 and 2024, AFP and AFP Action reached out to a record of nearly 30 million voters. The Protect Prosperity campaign is elevating the voices of Members of Congress who support pro-growth tax cuts while holding accountable Members who oppose extending and building on tax relief for American families and businesses.

The campaign features a robust 50-state media engagement strategy and lobbying effort. AFP will conduct over 1,000 meetings with Congressional offices on Capitol Hill and elevate Members’ voices with in-district events with our activists, organize roundtables with job creators, and share testimonials from real American families and businesses who would suffer if Congress fails to renew the Trump tax cuts.
