WYANDOTTE, MI — On Friday, Americans for Prosperity–Michigan (AFP-MI) and Concerned Veterans for America (CVA) partnered with Downriver for Veterans to host Operation Grateful Nation, an event aimed at supporting Michigan veterans and expanding opportunity across the state.
AFP-MI and CVA volunteers along with State Reps. Jamie Thompson and Rylee Linting distributed Thanksgiving meal packages to veterans and their families. The event also featured an informal community conversation between lawmakers, veterans, and local residents about improving veteran support and removing barriers facing military families.
AFP-MI State Director Tim Golding released the following statement:
“Michigan’s veterans represent the very best of our communities. Operation Grateful Nation serves to not only honor their service but to deepen a dialogue and build a pathway to remove barriers that stand in the way of opportunity. We are proud to stand alongside these men and women and continue to push for policy solutions that provide opportunities for Michigan’s veterans to achieve successful and prosperous lives.”
