Arlington, Va. – Following an unprecedented number of executive orders from President Biden on the first day of his administration, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) urged the president to refrain from implementing additional top-down energy policies and regulations that will make it harder for more Americans to access affordable and reliable energy.
AFP Chief Government Affairs Officer Brent Gardner issued the following statement:
“President Biden’s flood of executive orders would erect barriers to affordable energy and hamper economic recovery at a time when millions of Americans are struggling to make ends meet.
“Rejoining the Paris Climate Accords and rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline will eliminate jobs, disproportionally hurt low-income communities President Biden has pledged to help, worsen energy poverty, and make economic recovery even harder to accomplish. We stand ready to work with the Biden administration on policies to help America recover stronger, and we should do it by embracing new technology and innovation in a strong economy, not with top-down regulations that hurt the people we should be trying to help.”
