What: Facebook Live Panel Discussion on Certificate of Need with Dr. Marcelo Hochman

When: Wednesday, July 8, 2020, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. EST

Where: Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina’s Facebook Page

To weather the COVID-19 crisis, we need to ensure that South Carolina health care providers are free of barriers that keep them from delivering medical care to patients in need.

So, why does our state have a law on the books, called certificate-of-need, that restricts providers from offering new services and opening new facilities?

While Governor Henry McMaster temporarily suspended parts of South Carolina’s CON law to address COVID-19, Dr. Marcelo Hochman — president of the Charleston Medical Society and member of the Coalition to Repeal CON — makes the case for why the General Assembly should permanently repeal this law.

After all, if suspending CON is good for patients during the COVID-19 crisis, it will certainly be good for them after.

We invite you to tune into Facebook Live on July 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for a panel discussion with Dr. Hochman, Americans for Prosperity-South Carolina Grassroots Engagement Director Jason Lyon, and Jason Edson on why South Carolina’s CON law must go.

We hope you can join us!
