AFP launches campaign to reject federal bailouts

NASHVILLE, TN – Americans for Prosperity-Tennessee today urged Tennessee’s congressional delegation to reject state bailout requests. The grassroots group will mobilize activists against another massive spending bill by running a significant national campaign that includes digital ads directing activists to a petition for them to sign.

Americans for Prosperity-Tennessee State Director Tori Venable issued the following statement:

“Tennesseans should not be forced to bailout other states that failed for decades to balance their budgets. The trillion-dollar boondoggle bailout should be a nonstarter for our congressional delegation.

“People are hurting. Business owners that had to close their doors are struggling to stay afloat. But politicians are already looking for more bailout bucks to cover their reckless spending and lack of fiscal responsibility. Using this crisis as an opportunity at the expense of hard-working Tennesseans is reprehensible and we will hold these politicians accountable.”
