WASHINGTON, DC – This week, Americans for Prosperity – Kansas awarded two members of Congress with “Pioneers for Prosperity” awards.
The award honors distinguished lawmakers who were policy champions during the 118th Congress. These leaders are on the frontlines in Congress advancing principles and policies that drive the conservative movement, while proactively opposing harmful ideas that grow the size of government and take money out of taxpayers’ paychecks. The “Pioneers for Prosperity” stood firm against ill-advised legislation that would have deepened the hardships felt by working families and worked closely with AFP in Washington as well as with our grassroots communities in their home states.
Lawmakers earned recognition for supporting bills such as the Employee Rights Act, Strategic Production Response Act, Lower Energy Costs Act, Health Care Fairness for All Act, and other pivotal pieces of legislation that offer solutions that would improve Americans’ lives.
U.S. Congressmen Tracey Mann (KS-01) and Jake LaTurner (KS-02) earned this distinction for their representation of The Sunflower State.
AFP-KS State Director Elizabeth Patton released the following statement:
“We are grateful to work with leaders like Reps. Mann and LaTurner and were thrilled to award them with our Pioneers for Prosperity recognition. In Congress, these leaders have stood for Kansas values and voted for commonsense legislation that can grow our economy and limit the scope of government.”
Rep. Mann released the following statement:
“I am proud to fight for a country that Kansans can be proud of. During my yearly 60-County Mann Listening Tour, I consistently heard from Kansans about the need for Congress to pass real, common-sense legislation that provides solutions to America’s problems. While the Biden-Harris Administration ignores America’s needs, I am following my marching orders from Kansans to reduce and reprioritize federal spending, secure the southern border, and end the weaponization of the federal government. I am grateful for Americans for Prosperity’s partnership in finding solutions that drive America forward and ensure our brightest days are yet to come. Thank you, Americans for Prosperity, for awarding me with the Pioneers for Prosperity award.”
This week, AFP-KS met with Members in Washington to discuss major tax policies, including the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, that are set to expire at the end of 2025 which are commonly referred to as the “fiscal cliff” and what AFP’s new polling found on these key issues.
