AFP & Members of Congress Rally the Grassroots to Renew President Trump’s Tax Cuts on National Day of Action

May 15, 2025 by AFP

Washington, DC—On Saturday, May 17, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is teaming up with Members of Congress to Protect Prosperity and rally the grassroots as Congress continues to deliberate on a pro-growth tax package to make permanent the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA).

As first reported by Fox News, AFP Activists across the country will be talking to voters on the phones and at their doorsteps about the current trajectory of Republicans’ tax cut package and encouraging voters to reach out to their Senators and Representatives to bolster support for the Trump tax cuts.

Representatives David Schweikert (AZ-01), Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06), Ashley Hinson (IA-01), Tom Barrett (MI-07), and Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07) will join AFP State Chapters in their districts to talk to voters about the potential economic opportunity that Congress and the White House can unleash by swiftly renewing and extending President Trump’s signature tax cuts.

AFP Managing Director Kent Strang issued the following statement ahead of Saturday’s National Day of Action:

“Working families and small businesses throughout the country are counting on Congress to act as soon as possible to renew President Trump’s tax cuts. With support from AFP’s activists bringing their unmatched energy and drive this weekend, we can ensure we extend pro-growth tax policy and help Republicans prevent the largest tax hike in history from crushing the middle class.

“Getting out and talking with voters about important issues, not just important elections, is what sets the work AFP does apart. In the last cycle, AFP and AFP Action knocked on nearly 30 million doors and we’re bringing that same intensity now to voters to support Republicans’ pro-growth tax agenda.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Reps. Schweikert, Hinson, Barrett and Mackenzie to join the ranks of our activists and rally the grassroots so that Congress can confidently move forward on a tax bill that protects prosperity for everyone.”
