Atlanta, Georgia—Today, Georgia’s premier grassroots organizations, Americans for Prosperity-Georgia (AFP-GA) and the Georgia chapter of the LIBRE Initiative praised Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones’ introduction of the Red Tape Rollback Act of 2025.

AFP-GA State Director Tony West issued the following statement on Lt. Gov. Jones’ emphasizing regulatory reform in the 2025 legislative session:

“For years, AFP-GA has emphasized the tremendous impact that wholesale regulatory reform could have on Georgia’s economy. We were proud to support the Small Business Protection Act last session. This year, we are encouraged that lawmakers in Georgia are harnessing national enthusiasm to embrace efficiency and better steward taxpayer dollars by cutting wasteful regulations.

“Efforts to emulate the new federal Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) at the state level can help us better deploy government resources, reduce the size of government and transform the business environment for Georgia’s job-creators.

“We look forward to working with Lt. Gov. Jones and policy champions under the Gold Dome to ensure smart legislation like the Red Tape Rollback Act and the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act make it to Governor Kemp’s desk.”

Stefanie Zaenker, Strategic Director of The LIBRE Initiative in Georgia issued the following statement after the Lt. Governor’s announcement:

“Today, we commend Georgia Lt. Governor Burt Jones for his leadership in advancing regulatory reform with the unveiling of his DOGE plan. We look forward to partnering with him to support the REINS Act and other ‘red tape rollback’ legislation that will streamline government and empower Georgia’s economy. These reforms are not only critical for the state’s growth, but they are also a win for Latino families and business owners. By cutting through complicated rules and reducing the financial burden of compliance, these changes will help small businesses thrive, allowing Latino entrepreneurs to focus on growth, innovation, and creating jobs. This is a step forward in ensuring a more inclusive, equitable economic environment for all.”
