AFP-Ohio Releases Legislative Scorecard, 2026 Policy Agenda

COLUMBUS, OH—Americans for Prosperity-Ohio (AFP-OH) released its Mid-Session Legislative Scorecard and updated “Buckeye Blueprint” legislative agenda at the start of Ohio’s 136th General Assembly session for 2026.

The scorecard shows whether or not each member of the Assembly voted in line with AFP-OH’s position on “Key Vote Alert” (KVA) legislation. At the conclusion of the 136th General Assembly, AFP-OH will issue a full scorecard that names its policy champions and assigns members letter grades for their voting records.

The Buckeye Blueprint focuses on four key policy areas:

Economic Freedom: Ensure disciplined spending, regulatory accountability, and put Ohio on a credible path toward 0% income tax in the next decade.
Modernizing Ohio Government: Consolidate burdensome layers of government, advance truth-in-taxation protections, and cut local red tape that has increased costs for families and employers.
Education Opportunity: Fight to fund families, expand supply, and remove remaining barriers to true school choice.
Energy Abundance: Support free market policies that deliver reliable, affordable energy and attract private investment – especially as new threats to ratepayers continue to emerge.

“AFP-Ohio is excited to share our updated legislative agenda for 2026 after a productive first half of the 136th Ohio General Assembly. Ohio has achieved major policy victories in recent years, and our agenda for this year highlights the most ways we can protect what we’ve accomplished and position our state for even bolder reforms in the future.

“With so many transformational policy victories possible in this year’s session, we’re keeping a close watch on how Ohio’s elected representatives vote on the freedom-forward reforms we fight for every day. Our mid-session scorecard aims to hold lawmakers accountable for supporting bad policies or celebrate policy champions who work to expand opportunity and prosperity in the Buckeye State.”
