AFP-MS State Director Starla Brown visits Capitol Hill ahead of MS events

JACKSON, MS — Americans for Prosperity – Mississippi (AFP-MS) State Director Starla Brown was on Capitol Hill last week meeting with Mississippi lawmakers as the “True Cost of Washington” bus tour kicks off.

AFP met with lawmakers on the cost of inflation as part of its nationwide bus tour, which includes events in Mississippi later this month.

“Life is costing Mississippians almost $500 more a month thanks to skyrocketing inflation,” said Brown. “I appreciated the chance to meet with Mississippi lawmakers to express concerns about bad energy policies have contributed to the deep pain families are feeling when filling up their cars. Later this month I look forward to giving Mississippians a break at the gas pump and sharing how policies in the True Cost Campaign will build a stronger economy that works for all.”

Background:

AFP delivered a policy recipe to lawmakers through the “Empowering People, Emerging Stronger” legislative initiatives that would definitely, and immediately, solve problems for the American people by:

  • Building a Thriving Economy
  • Restoring Congress’ Policymaking Leadership
  • Providing a Personal Option for Health Care
  • Ending a Failed Approach to Addiction and Substance Use
  • Strengthening and Modernizing America’s Immigration System

Following this effort, AFP kicked off its 90-day “True Cost of Washington” Bus Tour that will have stops in over 100 cities. The organization will connect with everyday Americans on grassroots solutions to solve the most pressing economic problems facing our country today including skyrocketing inflation and staggering gas prices.
