Governor Walz released his proposal for the state budget this week, and it would lead to One EXPENSIVE Minnesota. He’s got a 20 cent gas tax increase, higher tab fees and sales taxes, increased health care taxes, prescription drug fees, and on and on. Overall – it adds up to nearly $50 billion of spending. We talk with Rep. Anne Neu about the burdens the Walz budget will put on Minnesota families and businesses.

Then, we touch base with Carlos Alfaro from the Libre Initiative on the spending deal in Congress that forestalled another government shutdown – yet did nothing to address border security of certainty for dreamers. Is any kind of a deal possible? In the absence of comprehensive reform, what legislation IS moving that will help change our broken immigration system?
