LANSING, MI – Americans for Prosperity – Michigan (AFP-MI) is launching a multi-layered campaign to defeat a new corporate handouts bill being considered by the Senate Economic and Small Business Development Committee this Thursday. SB 615 would give $300 million in tax subsidies to large corporations.

The campaign includes calls, door knocking, and targeted outreach with key legislators.

AFP-MI State Director Annie Patnaude released the following statement:

“In the midst of our economic recovery, we cannot afford for unelected bureaucrats to make speculative investments in mega-corporations funded by our tax dollars. This bill would also put Michigan families and small businesses on the hook for $300 million in lost revenue. Instead, we should be focused on sound policies that will attract new businesses to our state and help existing businesses flourish.”
