Americans for Prosperity and Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce issued a joint statement following the Senate confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to be an associate justice of the Supreme Court.
AFP Vice President of Judicial Strategy Sarah Field and Freedom Partners Executive Vice President Nathan Nascimento issued the following statement:
“We commend the Senate Judiciary Committee and Chairman Grassley for conducting an open and respectful process into the serious accusations that were raised, but also disputed. It was important for both Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh to have their voices heard and that the FBI took additional steps, given the severity of the accusations.
Since Judge Kavanaugh was nominated, we have educated the American people about his sound judicial philosophy and exemplary record, and the nation will benefit greatly from his experience and qualifications now that he has been confirmed to the Supreme Court.
Our country has a lot of work to do to move beyond destructive tribalism and divisiveness and come together. All Americans, especially Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford, deserved a better process than what played out over the last several weeks. And all people deserve to live in a society of much greater respect and shared community. This is something that our Network is committed to working toward.”
