Today, AFP-IA Deputy State Director Tyler Raygor joined Governor Kim Reynolds as she signed this bill into law:
“With Governor Reynolds’ signature, fresh milk and the freedom to choose what your family drinks is the new law of the land in the Hawkeye State,” said Tyler Raygor. “This law gets government out of the way of Iowa’s farmers and dairy workers and empowers Iowans with access to the freshest milk they can buy. We thank Gov. Reynolds and members of the legislature for their work to get this bill across the finish line.”
An issue that took more than a decade to pass into law, AFP-IA worked closely with members of the General Assembly to get this bill across the finish line, including the tireless work of Sen. Jason Schultz, Majority Leader Matt Windschitl, Rep. Steven Holt and Rep. Bobby Kaufmann.
Finally, AFP-IA thanks its tireless grassroots activists, led by Esther Arkfeld and Tom German. Through their work, they cultivated a community of thousands of Iowans in person and online across the state who simply wanted to get government out of the decisions that they make for their families. It took many years to get this done but they never gave up and instead only grew their movement.
