AFP-OK Celebrates Legislative Victories Following End of the 2026 Session

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Americans for Prosperity-Oklahoma (AFP-OK) celebrated the end of a successful 2026 legislative session today, highlighting its victories and sharing its goals for next year. The chapter’s wins beneath the dome this year reflect its ongoing commitment to making the Sooner State the most prosperous state in the nation by advocating for the policies to make it happen, whether it’s expanding school options or strengthening free speech protections and agency transparency.

AFP-OK’s biggest legislative wins for 2026 include:

  • H.B. 3705 (Caldwell/Daniels): Raising the cap on the Parental Choice Tax Credit by $25 million.
  • S.B. 1433 (Bergstrom/Hall): Passing comprehensive Guidance Transparency legislation and increasing accountability.
  • S.B.1725 (Seifried/Moore): Updating campus free speech policies and directing the Free Speech Committee to develop training.
  • H.B. 3369 (Hildebrandt/Gillespie): Passing a bill that relaxes the mandate that food trucks must install costly fire suppression systems and gives food trucks a lower-cost alternative to built-in suppression systems. Oklahoma has more than 500 mobile food vendors and small businesses operating in the state.
  • S.B. 1726 (Daniels/Chad Caldwell): Creates mandatory training for graduate instructors teaching college courses, specifically requiring instruction for protecting students’ First Amendment rights.
  • H.B. 3720 (Hall/Hines): Updates and expands Oklahoma’s existing “Homemade Food Freedom Act” and makes it easier for small, home-based food producers to operate and grow their businesses. The bill raises the revenue cap on gross annual sales from $75,000 to $250,000.

AFP-OK State Director John Tidwell released the following statement:

“Once again, our team can be proud of its hard work in Oklahoma City helping drive principled policies that benefit families, students, and entrepreneurs across our great state. Those achievements are the direct result of AFP-OK’s dedicated efforts beneath the dome and our close work with our partners in the legislature. As lawmakers now leave the State Capitol for their home districts, our team is looking forward to planning for the 2027 session and more successes in the coming year.

“Strong families and thriving businesses depend on economic freedom, responsible budgeting, and a government that lives within its means. By pursuing accelerated tax relief, smarter spending, a push for lower utility rates, and long-term fiscal discipline, we can help Oklahoma families keep more of what they earn and build a stronger future for the next generation.”
