Manchester, New Hampshire–Today, the New Hampshire legislature passed the state budget, which will expand health care access and choice by removing the 15-mile exclusionary zone around critical access hospitals that prevents providers from offering new health care services in rural areas.
Additionally, this budget ends the requirement for motorists to have their vehicle inspected by the state.
Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire Deputy State Director Sarah Scott issued the following statement:
“This is a significant win for patients across the Granite State, more than half of New Hampshire will have greater access and more choice in how they receive medical care. Increased competition in health care will improve quality and lower costs.
“With the repeal of state vehicle inspections, Granite Staters save both time and money and will be that much freer from nanny-state regulations.
“AFP-NH congratulates House and Senate leadership for brokering negotiations that increase personal freedom and access to quality affordable health care. We urge Governor Ayotte to expeditiously sign this bill and continue expanding the New Hampshire Advantage.”
