Americans for Prosperity - Indiana Supports Bill to Remove Needless Government Regulation

HB 1006 Will Remove Hurdle to Job Creation and Encourage Competition

INDIANAPOLIS – The Hoosier chapter of the nation’s premiere free market grassroots organization today endorsed HB 1006, which ends government regulated occupational licensing for a number of professions including cosmetologists and barbers.

“In the case of HB 1006, occupational licensing is more about hampering competition than about protecting consumers,” says Chase Downham, Director of AFP-IN. “Hoosiers don’t need a bureaucrat to tell them which barbers are best for cutting hair or which cosmetologists can perform a professional manicure.”
