ICYMI: Americans for Prosperity, LIBRE, and Concerned Veterans for America Host TCJA Townhall with Rep. Jen Kiggans
Virginia Beach, VA – Yesterday, Americans for Prosperity-Virginia (AFP-VA), in conjunction with The LIBRE Initiative and Concerned Veterans for American (CVA), hosted a townhall featuring Representative Jen Kiggans and a panel of leaders from each organization. Over 100 Virginia Beach residents attended the discussion which centered around the importance of extending the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) to benefit all Virginians. Rep. Kiggans discussed Congress’ laser focus to pass the TCJA.
Rep. Kiggans made the following statement:
“When you have the majority, you can pass the bills you want to pass. We can pass to extend the Trump Tax Cuts and Jobs Act; if we didn’t, it would be one of the largest tax increases for working families in the history of our country. We are very unified, and very, very much laser focused on getting that passed.”
AFP Regional Vice President Ashley Klingensmith released the following statement:
“This year, Congress is facing a countdown to a crisis that threatens family budgets nationwide. If Congress fails to renew the TCJA, Virginians will be left paying over $2,600 more in taxes. If we are going to reignite the American Dream, we need to start with protecting the progress we made with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, as well as expand on pro-growth tax policy that will jump start the economy and get more Virginians back to work. We are proud to partner with Rep. Kiggans to protect prosperity and ensure that Congress acts before millions of Virginians face crippling increases in their tax bills.”
CVA Executive Director John Vick released the following statement:
