Instead of Tax Day Nightmares, AFP-SC Takes Message of Trump Tax Cut Renewal to Rep. Clyburn’s Office and Across South Carolina
Columbia, SC—On Tuesday, Americans for Prosperity – South Carolina (AFP-SC) held events all throughout the Palmetto State bringing a message to Protect Prosperity and renew President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). The grassroots organization spoke with South Carolinians in various parts of the state, sharing how the renewal of the TCJA means the average South Carolina family won’t see a $2,199 federal tax increase from hitting their budgets next year.
AFP-SC highlighted support from Representatives William Timmons and Ralph Norman on the House budget resolution. Not all of South Carolina’s Congressional Members support this, however, prompting AFP-SC to utilize a mobile billboard to drive throughout the district of Congressman James Clyburn (SC-06). In an X post, AFP-SC State Director Matt Humm said, “We are encouraging him to take action where he didn’t in the past. In 2017 he voted against the Trump tax cuts and again a couple of weeks ago, we need him to reverse course.”
In a radio interview on WQXL, AFP-SC Director of Public Affairs Candace Carroll said, “We’ve seen so many people this year that are continuing to hurt from inflation and we at AFP have been highlighting tax day and the positive impacts of the Trump tax cuts.” From Greenville to Myrtle Beach, AFP-SC rallied and gathered with voters to advocate for the TCJA renewal. AFP-SC also partner with its sister organization Concerned Veterans for America.
