Seabrook, NH — Amid growing electricity prices throughout the Northeast, Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) brought together state leaders for a discussion on how to lower prices and secure a more reliable, abundant energy future for the Granite State and the Northeast. State Representatives Michael Vose and JD Bernardy joined AFP-NH to discuss nuclear policy initiatives they are working on that will cut red tape and increase supply to deliver affordable and reliable energy to the Granite State.
New England faces some of the highest energy costs in the country, driven by regional grid constraints and policies that limit supply. While New Hampshire is taking steps to lead on lowering costs and expanding reliable energy, it remains tied to a regional system where other states’ decisions drive prices higher.
AFP-NH Deputy State Director Sarah Scott said:
“Unfortunately, New Hampshire shares the same grid as the rest of the Northeast, which, due to their inflating energy policies, has caused some of the highest rates in the country. The good news is that the Granite State is stepping up with an approach that focuses on expanding energy production and cutting unnecessary red tape.
“State Representatives Vose and Bernardy are leading the charge to advance energy initiatives that will expand supply and reduce regulations. But New Hampshire can only do so much. We urge our neighbors across the region to embrace a more balanced, forward-looking energy approach so families and businesses are no longer strained by unnecessarily high costs.
