ICYMI: AFP-New Hampshire Hosts Tax Day Protest Outside Chris Pappas’ Office

Manchester, New Hampshire – Yesterday, Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) held a protest outside Representative Chris Pappas’ Office in response to his opposition to extending the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), even though failing to renew the TCJA would cause crippling tax hikes and job losses for families and businesses in New Hampshire.

Through this event, AFP-NH activists urged Rep. Pappas to support the extension of the Trump Tax Cuts, highlighting how a failure to renew the TCJA could result in the loss of over 4,800 jobs in New Hampshire, as well as increasing families’ federal tax bill by over $3,400.

This protest was part of AFP’s national “Protect Prosperity” campaign, which is focused on urging Congress to protect families and businesses across the country from crippling tax hikes by renewing the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act this year.

AFP-NH Deputy State Director Sarah Scott released the following statement:

“Since the TCJA was passed in 2017, these tax cuts have allowed our economy to thrive. Opposing the TCJA is in no one’s best interest. It will only hurt hardworking New Hampshire families and the businesses who are still struggling after years of Bidenomics.

“Instead of opposing the tax cuts that have powered prosperity across the state, AFP urges Rep. Pappas to change course and support renewing the TCJA to protect New Hampshire residents from looming tax hikes at the end of this year.”
