ICYMI: AFP-Michigan Hosts Mike Rogers for “Standing Up for Small Business” Panel in Plainwell

PLAINWELL, MI – On Friday, May 8th, Americans for Prosperity-Michigan (AFP-MI) welcomed community leaders, entrepreneurs, and former U.S. Congressman Mike Rogers to Plainwell for “Standing Up for Small Business,” a panel discussion focused on the challenges and opportunities facing Michigan’s job creators.

The event featured candid conversations with local business owners navigating rising costs, burdensome regulations, and other barriers to growth. Joined by AFP-MI State Director Tim Golding, attendees discussed how Michigan can create a stronger environment for entrepreneurship by empowering small businesses, streamlining government processes, and advancing policies that encourage long-term economic growth across the state.

AFP-MI State Director Tim Golding released the following statement:

“Michigan’s small businesses are ready to grow, hire, and invest in their communities, but too often they are forced to navigate unnecessary red tape and lengthy permitting delays that make it harder to get the job done. If we want Michigan to compete and win, we need leaders who are willing to modernize outdated regulations and create a business climate that rewards innovation and hard work.

“During our discussion, Mike Rogers highlighted the need for practical reforms that expand opportunity for entrepreneurs and local job creators across the state. By removing bureaucratic barriers, improving permitting processes, and giving our small businesses the freedom to grow, Michigan can unlock new investment, strengthen local economies, and create greater opportunity for workers and families across the state.”
