LANSING, MI — Yesterday, Americans for Prosperity-Michigan (AFP-MI) presented U.S. Representatives Bill Huizenga and Tim Walberg with the “Pioneers for Prosperity” award, recognizing their leadership in Congress in advancing policies that put Michigan taxpayers first.
The award recognizes outstanding legislators who turn grassroots free-market ideas into policy. Award consideration looked beyond voting records to a representative’s year-round presence and engagement with constituents in the state.
Reps. Huizenga and Walberg have consistently voted to curb Democrat overreach and championed efforts that deliver tax relief and economic opportunity for Michigan families, workers, and job creators.
AFP-MI State Director Tim Golding released the following statement:
“Plenty of lawmakers vote the right way, but Reps. Huizenga and Walberg go further. They show up in our communities, hear what’s holding Michiganders back, and push for solutions that open doors. They listened to people back home, then turned that input into solutions. For that reason, AFP-MI is honored to recognize them with this year’s Pioneers for Prosperity Award.
“Michigan taxpayers are keeping more of what they earn, and our farmers, workers, and harbor towns have allies in Congress, because Reps. Huizenga and Walberg did the work. AFP-MI will continue to work alongside them to advance policies that put Michigan taxpayers first.”
