Wilsonville, Oregon — In case you missed it, Americans for Prosperity (AFP), Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), and The LIBRE Initiative hosted a rally featuring special guest Spencer Pratt on defending freedom against socialism.

The evening featured a fireside chat with speakers, including a U.S. Navy veteran who fled socialism in Cuba. Speakers shared real stories of escaping socialism and how we can recognize and stop policies like rent control and government-run healthcare from taking over our country.

AFP Western Region Director Zak Kubin said the following:

“Across the country, we are seeing a troubling shift: bigger government and more control over our lives. Oregon has no shortage of bad policies and ideas that are pushing the state in the wrong direction. We were fortunate to have Spencer Pratt, who is known for his direct, common-sense approach to public safety and government reform, join us to raise awareness about the spread of socialism. His message was simple: don’t wait until it’s too late.

“Freedom isn’t something to take for granted—it must be defended. We invite those who want to join the fight to protect their freedom and American Dream to speak up against socialist policies before it’s too late.”

Spencer Pratt said:

“Socialism is spreading like societal cancer, and its false promises come at the cost of more government and less freedom. The future of America depends on us fighting right now to protect our individual liberty and the courage to defend American values.

“I thank AFP for hosting this rally and fighting against socialism. We live in the land of the free and have the ability to shape our future. We should take pride in the country that makes that possible. We need to get back to loving America. It’s cool to love America. And it’s necessary.”

AFP Managing Director Kent Strang said:

“Socialism is not the answer to the challenges facing American families. Rising costs are real, but giving government more control over our healthcare, housing, and energy won’t lower costs or solve our biggest challenges. Americans thrive when we unleash innovation, competition, and opportunity. That’s why we need to get the government out of the way and cut the red tape that drives up costs. The answer is never more government control. It’s always more freedom.”
