Atlanta, Georgia – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) grassroots activists from across the country traveled to Capitol Hill this week as part of Americans for Prosperity’s ongoing Protect Prosperity campaign to advocate for President Trump’s tax cuts.

State Director Tony West traveled to Washington and met with Georgia lawmakers to extend provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which saves the average Georgian family $2,580 in federal taxes per year and preserves 25,151 jobs throughout the state. West also discussed passing the rescissions package from the White House to eliminate wasteful spending.

AFP-GA State Director Tony West released the following statement:

“This week, I met with lawmakers and urged them to pass President Trump’s reconciliation package and renew the TCJA tax cuts that will save Georgians more of their hard-earned money on their Federal taxes.

“We must ensure Americans aren’t hit with the largest tax increase in history – we look forward to working alongside policymakers to make the TCJA permanent.”
