Americans for Prosperity Encourages Youngkin to Move Virginia in Right Direction on Energy

Dec 8, 2021 by AFP

RICHMOND, VA – Americans for Prosperity-Virginia (AFP-VA) today reacted to Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin’s recent call to withdraw Virginia from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).

AFP-VA State Director JC Hernandez issued the following statement:

“AFP-VA applauds Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin’s dedication to protect Virginia from another top-down mandate that hurts Virginia families while doing little to nothing to protect the environment. The path to a cleaner environment is embracing innovation rather than relying on the same one-size-fits-all solution, which in this case raises the cost of energy and everyday goods for Virginia families. We are thrilled to see a renewed commitment to common sense energy policy here in the Commonwealth.”
