ARLINGTON, VA— In case you missed it, Americans for Prosperity’s “Road to Prosperity” tour made stops in Eveleth, Minnesota and Bozeman, Montana last week to highlight the need for Congress to reopen the government and get to work on federal permitting reform to bolster key industries and guarantee America’s energy independence.

On Monday, U.S. Representative Pete Stauber (MN-08) joined AFP-Minnesota for a tour of a large iron mine in the state’s Iron Range, a resource-rich region where bureaucratic red tape has stalled mining projects for rare earths that are critical to America’s automotive, defense, and technology sectors.

Stauber emphasized that “mining has been the lifeblood of Minnesota for 146 years,” and that federal permitting reform will keep Minnesota’s economic future bright.

On Thursday, AFP-Montana State Director Jesse Ramos delivered a speech at the “Big Sky, Bright Future Economic Summit” hosted by Montana Governor Greg Gianforte and the Montana Chamber of Commerce, where he said that innovation in the energy sector should happen at the speed of Montana, not Washington, D.C. – which has stalled some Montana energy projects for decades.

“Montana fuels America — and America needs Montana,” Ramos said. Here’s the truth: if we get energy, work, and innovation policy right, Montana can lead the next American energy renaissance.”

The Road to Prosperity” tour is bringing rallies and events across the country, including many at local energy project sites that have been hit with delays as a result of red tape, to drive support for reform in Washington. AFP launched the campaign with an ad buy and video message from House Majority Leader Steve Scalise.
