AFP-WV Releases 2026 Legislative Scorecard

Annual scorecard gives West Virginians a clear account of how lawmakers voted on key policy priorities

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Americans for Prosperity–West Virginia (AFP-WV) today released their annual legislative scorecard, helping West Virginians see how their elected officials voted on key policy priorities during the 2026 legislative session. The group has released a scorecard every year since 2018 that corresponds with their annual Pathway to Prosperity Legislative Agenda.

The scorecard tracks how lawmakers stood on some of the most important legislation of the Regular Session. It is designed to increase transparency and help citizens better hold legislators accountable when it comes to advancing policies that will make West Virginia a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

AFP-WV State Director Jason Huffman released the following statement:

“Government works best when it is transparent and, most importantly, held to account by constituents. Our scorecard highlights the hard work of principled policymakers who are standing up for our shared West Virginia values while bringing grassroots leaders together to hold lawmakers to account who have put special interests ahead of proven policy solutions. Together, we can continue to rapidly enact crucial reforms that help every Mountaineer thrive.”

AFP-WV Deputy State Director Matt Gallagher added:

“This scorecard is about building a better future for West Virginia. When voters have clear information about how their representatives governed, they can reward leadership, demand improvement, and help shape a state where more people can build a life and succeed.”
