CHARLESTON, W.Va. —Americans for Prosperity–West Virginia (AFP-WV) today congratulates principled policy champions on their general-election victories. The group is eager to continue working alongside grassroots activists and policymakers to turn campaign commitments into transformational reforms.
AFP-WV staff and volunteers knocked on over 60,000 doors, connecting voters with candidates who are committed to expanding freedom and opportunity in the Mountain State. Our general-election canvassing operations were paired with robust digital and direct mail campaigns, representing a very strong six-figure effort.
AFP-WV scored 5 general election victories. These wins come on the heels of historic electoral engagement by the chapter in statehouse primary elections, where the group secured a host of victories for principled leaders.
AFP-WV State Director Jason Huffman issued the following statement:
“Once again, we’ve demonstrated that our signature grassroots approach is a key difference maker in competitive elections. When policy champions lead from the front, we will have their backs.
“The Mountain State has just seen its most competitive election cycle in over a decade. And that’s a good thing. Without competition, elected officials become complacent. Once again, voters have sent republican supermajorities to Charleston with a clear mandate to enact bold reforms.
“Now is the time to double down on first principles, and the common-sense pro-growth policies voters expect to see. The task before this new legislature is to make life more affordable, increase economic opportunity, create jobs, and grow West Virginia’s population.
“As always, our staff and activists across the state stand ready to help lawmakers continue to make West Virginia a better place to live, work, and raise a family.”
AFP-WV Deputy State Director Matt Gallagher added:
“Every door knocked and every conversation began with someone willing to give their time and show up for their fellow West Virginians. We’re grateful to the grassroots volunteers and staff who put in countless hours to make this effort possible. Our commitment to these communities continues after Election Day as we continue helping West Virginians make their voices heard and hold their elected leaders accountable.”
AFP-WV will continue uniting citizens and policymakers around proven policy solutions that help every Mountaineer thrive.
